Balloon Ceiling or No Balloons? 🎈
One of my favorite emails to send couples is surprisingly simple:
“Do you have a color palette in mind?”
If you’ve selected our Deluxe Ceiling Decor, that’s usually where the fun begins.
Picking Your Colors
Many couples already have a wedding palette in mind. Others know they want “something elegant” but haven’t picked the exact shades yet.
To make things easy, I simply send them a link to the balloon collection we use on Amazon. They can browse the available colors, choose one to three favorites, and send me the color codes.
No guessing whether “sage green” means one shade or another.
One recent couple wanted their ceiling to complement the greenery in their floral centerpieces. After looking through the options, they selected:
🤍 White
✨ Gold
🌿 Sage Green
They simply emailed me the color codes, I ordered the balloons, and we took care of the rest.
It’s one of those planning details that’s actually pretty fun.
How Big Is the Balloon Ceiling?
One question we hear fairly often is:
“How much of the room does it cover?”
Our suspended balloon ceiling spans approximately 25 feet by 50 feet, creating a colorful canopy over much of the reception area.
To create that look, we typically install 100 to 120 balloon clusters, with each cluster containing up to three air-filled latex balloons. That means your finished ceiling usually includes 300 or more balloons.
Because we use air-filled balloons, not helium, they stay looking great throughout your reception without worrying about them floating away or losing lift.
We also order the balloons shortly before your wedding so the latex is fresh and looks its best. Once they arrive, we handle all of the installation before your guests walk through the doors.
But What If You Don’t Like Balloons?
Not everyone does!
One bride replied with a smile:
“Due to my globophobia (fear of balloons 😏🤪), we had discussed using paper lanterns instead.”
I had to admit—that was a first!
Instead of balloons, they ordered colorful paper lanterns in several different sizes and asked how many would create the same dramatic ceiling effect.
After measuring the space, I recommended about 165–175 lanterns for the fullest look, while noting that 130 or more would still create a beautiful display.
They dropped the lanterns off a couple of weeks before the wedding, giving us plenty of time to prepare the hanging lines and install everything before their big day.
The finished ceiling had all the visual impact of our balloon installation—but with a completely different style.
